FAU Owl's can not welcome Brother Micah AGAIN to our campus! Yes everybody the crazy man who yells that we are going to hell and sinners is back in action! But you might not have spotted him in the familiar spot near the SO building. He has now moved towards the new freshman dorms Glades Park Towers and also near the University Center. So get your shouting voices out and your paper balls ready to make this man leave us college students alone!

FAU PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES
Florida Atlantic University hosts the NBC Republican Presidential Debates just before Jan. 29 when Florida holds their Presidential Primary elections. When driving into FAU, the 'hidden parking lot' that guests are unaware of was empty. Several of my friends and I park there and walk towards the FAU Breezeway Cafe to grab a quick bite, again no security. However, as we walk about 900 feet towards the area the debates would take place, we start to see the huge MSNBC and NBC symbols posted up against the walls. Then as we get closer, we hear some cheering and see the political show Hardball being filmed live in the parking lot. So as we walk over, we notice the metal dectors at all of the doors. I felt that we were in the airport about to go through security. So we walk over and pick up our tickets from will call. It seemed like none of us would be sitting together having our seats range from ROW JJ to ROW HH so we definitely thought we would not be seeing each other anymore. As we approach our seats inside, we see that our seats are in the same section and our seats are next to each other. But as we turn to the stage, we notice that NONE of us can see the candidates podium much less the mini flat screen television. So we notice that not alot of people had shown up so we moved seats to a higher level to the left.
My friend Ana did a piece for the university press television on what to expect on the debates:
We have such an amazing view now of the candidates and the televisions. We never had to move and enjoyed the debates. As you know, the debates were broadcasted live on NBC. The candidates had some very strong quotes that left viewers shocked.
Some quotes that stood out to me were:
In regards to talking about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq: "Just because we didnt find every easter egg doesnt mean it wasn't hidden."-Huckabee
In regards to Hilary running: "We don't want a married couple running the White House. And we don't want Bill in the White House having nothing to do, again"
In regards to not pulling out of the debate: "We can't have Al Quida take over and they will if we leave. General Hilary Clinton has done nothing for anything in Iraq, it is President Bush." -Romney
"I'm not going to change my opinion when polls change like some (in reference to Hilary Clinton. In order to be President of the United States you have to be able to read polls but not let them push u around." -Giuliani
As for the debates though, I feel that several candidates were much stronger now then they ever had before. One candidate would have been Romney, whom was actually answering alot of the questions he was asked and was straight to the point. As for the topics that ranged from the War in Iraq to immigration. One candidate Giuliani who's policy on immigration is that one must learn the English language 'know how to read and write English before becoming a citizen.' As for the two candidates would came out of the hidden dark zone would be Romney and Giuliani.
During the debate, the first time ever, the candidates were able to ask each other questions. Candidate Ron Paul was not asked any questions from the other candidates nor was he addressed too much when it came to questions from the hosts.
Now for Giuliani, he was attacked several times especially getting questioned on why his home newspaper the New York Times doesn't support him.
As I conclude, I will post pictures and videos later on. So go out and vote early! Florida's early voting is still going on until Sunday, January 27.
Friday's early voting hours is 10am-6pm at the Boca Raton Community Center, in the same parking lot as Boca Raton City Hall off Palmetto Park Road and NW 2nd St/Boca Raton Avenue. Saturday and Sunday the polls are open from 10am-2pm. If you are registered in Florida you can come vote! If you are not registered, you can still come and register to vote in the August 29 primary election on the Senate and House of Rep's. KEITH URBAN SELLS OUT YET ANOTHER SOUTH FLORIDA CONCERT
Keith Urban has made yet another stop on his 2007 concert tour to stop at the Bank Atlantic Center on Saturday, Decemeber 8. With fans ranging from teenagers up to the elderly, with everybody very excited to see his opening act Taylor Swift. She is an amazing eighteen year old country singer famously known for her song Tears on My Guitar.
Fans never sat down the entire show, having Taylor open the show with her adorable smile and guitar slung over shoulder there is no possible way fans couldn't love her. After Taylor, Keith Urban had some of his music videos play on the screen for the audience to view while they setup his stage.
When the lights went low and you heard his voice, the screams were so loud like you were at a Hannah Montana concert. I will admit, this was my first time seeing Keith in concert and I had no idea what songs he sang. But he is such an amazing performer and has alot of hits. He seemed so down to earth and kept talking to the audience like we were his friends.

LOCAL RADIO STATION ATTRACTS THOUSANDS TO FREE CONCERT
Local radio station WRMF 97.9 offered to listeners to attend a free concert at City Place in West Palm Beach. The weather for the free concert called Snow Ball was anything but cold. Having the concert start on Friday, Nov. 30 with Grammy nominated artist Vanessa Carlton and Ingrid Michaelson.
Then Colbie Caillat with special guests Graham Colton and The Last Goodnight performed on Saturday, Dec. 1. Colbie Caillat is famously known for her song called 'Bubbly' and has been all over VH1 with her music video. The Last Goodnight is a more modern rock band that has a combination of Daughtry and Green Day combined. Over 8,500 listeners arrived to rock out with these artists for the free concert in the courtyard in between Starbucks and the waterfall bridge. DAUGHTRY LEAVES AMA'S WITH HANDFUL OF AWARDS
Daughtry takes home every American Music Award he was nominated for this year. Between Carrie Underwood and Daughtry, what would the AMA's done if these American Idol contestants were not discovered?

Daugthry was nominated and took home best pop rock album, breakthrough artist of the year and adult contemporary artist. Daughtry was nominated in the same category with Justin Timberlake for best pop rock album and he said he was shocked when he even knew he was up against Timberlake.
After the big win, Daughtry, his wife and children come to Miami to vacation for about two days before he hits the road on tour. Daughtry has already been in concert down here three times in the past year, so lets hope the next time he comes around you are able to catch him on tour! The band members have been living since late November in an $8.5 million bayfront mansion in Miami Beach that includes a rooftop pool, dance floor, listening room and mini-golf course: Danity Kane, the platinum-selling that was the show's third season band. Then Diddy added the five member all male group from Making the Band 4 to live together. So will the all boy or all girl group win?
The groups have been spotted out partying with Diddy at South Beach's club Mansion. Now keep in mind, one member in the boy group is underage, so how is he able to attend a strict 21 and older night club? I hope Diddy is aware of the laws for providing alcohol to minors.
Members of the girl band have been spotted together out shopping and laying out at the beach. Camera crews follow them everywhere and there one shot at fame is almost over. According to sources, the girls are barely recognized and nobody seems to pay attention to them but because of cameras they are getting some attention.
MTV finish's filming in late December and the show premieres on the ten spot on Jan. 28. I know this show sounds so exciting, so go set your tivo now!

NICK LACHEY COMES TO MIAMI FOR ALL WORK AND NO PLAY
In town working on his new collection of ballads, Nick Lachey checked into the Delano on Tuesday night sans girlfriend Vanessa Minillo.
Instead of hitting the Tuesday night Tommy Pooch-Alan Roth scenefest, Lachey politely declined Pooch's invite to party and instead headed up to his room.
Nick woke up bright and early Wednesday and headed to the Hit Factory where he spent most of the day before checking out on Friday afternoon. What we wonder is: does the Hit Factory always turn out hits? We hope so for Nick's sake!
With rumors floating around that his ex wife Jessica Simpson has been having alot of second thoughts on whether or not getting a divorce was a good idea. According to US Weekly, Jessica thought by now she would be an A List celebrity who was dating all the celebrities. MTV SCOOPS UP ANOTHER LOCAL FOR AN MTV REALITY SHOW
If you even turn on MTV once a day, you are bond to catch MTV's new reality show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. The show is basically about Tila Tequila a well known model of Penthouse, Maxim and Stuff Magazine. MTV granted Tila her own reality show having her unsure of her sexuality. She recently discovered she was bisexual so the show has half the contestants that are straight guys and half lesbians that are given 'a shot at love.'
The show is down to the final two contestants and one of them is from Deerfield Beach, FL. Her name is Dani Campbell and she is a lesbian who is trying to show Tila that her shot at love is with her. As a contestant on the show, Dani has been very quiet and not into the fights and arguments the other girls were having daily. She did speak her mind but when it came to drama, she stayed away.
Now in the final two, Dani has stepped up her game. She is in competition with another guy named Bobby; both of which Tila has met their families. When Tila came down to meet Dani’s family in Deerfield, she gave her Grandma Betty a lap dance in the living room! It was quite shocking to me and probably a lot of other viewers of the show too. Also when Tila came to visit Dani, they showed Dani’s workplace which is the fire station off i95 and 10th Street in Deerfield Beach. It is just very exciting to see how the cameras spiced up how everything is on the beach when we all know that fire house is nowhere near the beach.

LOCAL MODEL GETS THE HEAT ON VH1 REALITY SHOW
As I mentioned before in my blog, I interned this summer at Irene Marie Modeling Agency in Miami Beach. Irene Marie has a model named Brett Novek who was casted on the VH1 new reality show America's Most Smartest Model. Each week the models have to compete in competitions to prove they have 'brains and beauty.'
Each week Brett showed he had what it took to be America's Most Smartest Model. He even had a little battle with one of the judges when they stated to him 'You obviously have never done runway before because your walk sucked and your serious face is pathetic.' Obviously Brett did give them a piece of his mind, having the judges look very shocked that he spoke back to them. In the end, Brett was not eliminated from that episode but VH1 had you fooled to think he was going to be.
Sadly in episode 9, Brett was not able to win a competition of putting together a go-cart engine so he lost the challenge. Since Brett had lost the challenge when he went to the judges table, they had eliminated him stating that he did not have what it takes to be America's Most Smartest Model.
Since the show, Brett has had so much exposure that his myspace friend requests are in the hundreds with fans wishing he was still on the show. In my heart, I will always know that Brett Novek is America's Smartest and Hottest Model.

JENNIFER LOPEZ ADMITS SHES PREGNANT
At the final date of Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez's tour in Miami, J. Lo admits she's expecting. With speculation whirling around for months that she is pregnant, she finally admits it! I think she had done this because she wanted the media's attention by keeping it a secret. The media watched every outfit she wore and what she bought when shopping to create gossip. J. Lo has not had alot of media attention since she married Marc Anthony.
I feel that the couple not telling the press much about their love life made them more wanted for interviews and photoshoots. Obviously it worked but I am not sure what they will do once the baby is born.
Will it be another Tom and Katie mystery of what the baby looks like? Or will we have a Britney Spears baby that is always shown in the media? The world shall soon find out, since J. Lo is about 6 months pregnant!

NEW HOLLYWOOD COUPLE GETS COZY IN THE VERSACE MANSION
According to my sources actress Rachel Bilson and boyfriend Hayden Christensen checked in Casa Casuarina Tuesday night where, according to our snitch, “They had a romantic night that was planned by Bilson--- the couple stayed in the Mansion’s $4,000 a night Safari suite."
Rachel Bilson was dating Adam Brody, former co-star from The OC for over three years and recently split. Since the split, Rachel has been seen on dates with several actors but Hayden has been the one she has chosen.
The couple has kept their relationship very private which is not something Bilson has done with previous relationships.
I found a really funny video of Bilson in her car telling jokes. Beware it's very cheesy yet comical at the same time.

SHAQ AND WIFE SHAUNIE ARE HEADING TO SPLITVILLE
With four children and five years of marriage, Shaq and Shaunie are calling it quits. According to documents, the couple has a prenupital agreement and sealed under court request. In Shaq's decision for a divorce, he claims that Shaunie has been 'secretive about her assets..having alot of certain properties made in only her name.' O'Neil currently makes about $20 million a year playing for the Miami Heat and that is not including all his endorsements. The couple's home in Miami Beach's private Star Island is on the market for $32 million.
I think that Shaq should divorce Shaunie especially if she is being sneaky about investments she is putting in her name. If he caught her doing this, what else has she done without him knowing? A marriage is based upon trust and if you can't trust your wife with your money then you should get a divorce. It is sad that it had to come to a divorce but she caused the marriage to get to this point.

THE REAL GOSSIP GIRL STAR IN TOWN FOR PHOTOSHOOT
Blake Lively, star of CW hit show Gossip Girl checked into the Ritz Carlton in Miami Beach. Lively was in town for the weekend to shoot the cover of Teen Vogue. This will be her second magazine cover for the show Gossip Girl, her first cover was Cosmo Girl.
Blake Lively is best known for playing Bridget in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” but is now being identified from Gossip Girl as Serena van der Woodsen, a troubled, socialite teen. Gossip Girl is based off the popular book series written by Cecily von Ziegesar.
In recent gossip, Lively and co-star Leighton Meester who plays Blake Waldorf rival of Lively is jealous that Lively is receiving more media attention then her. Originally Meester was casted as the main character but Lively has blown producers away with her performance that she has received more lines.
Time will show whether the two are true friends at the upcoming award shows in Decemeber.
A fun fact, Chance Crawford who plays Nate Archibald on the show is dating country singer Carrie Underwood. Not bad for Gossip Girl to only have 7 episodes aired and already getting a Grammy winner girlfriend. ROSIE MIGHT MAKE A COMEBACK TO TV
Our hometown Miami diva Rosie O’Donnell is rumored that she is in negotiations with MSNBC for her own show. Rosie is in talks to have a primetime 9pm slot which puts her in competition with Fox News “Hannity and Colmes" and CNN's "Larry King Live." Currently Rosie does not contain a popular reputation with the public post her few months working on The View.
Since Rosie has been off the View, she has been very busy taking care of her four adopted children. All of them ranging in ages from 6 to 13. Rosie was also spotted with former member of *nsync Lance Bass book signing in South Beach this past weekend.
Only time will tell us whether or not Rosie is able to redeem her reputation by receiving her own television show.
Rosie did have her own television show for a few years, somewhat like Ellen DeGeneres very comical. Then a few years later Rosie was on the View, she no longer was solo and having an entertainment styled show. Having Rosie's opinion on topics come out shocked America but she probably had these views all along but had no reason to discuss them on The Rosie Show.
Fingers crossed to see if Rosie is going to give Larry King a run for his money on ratings.

HOGAN CHARGED WITH DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Clearwater Police Department released details pretaining to Nick Hogan's accident on Aug 26. Cops have sited that Nick was drinking the night of the accident.
According to TMZ.com, In addition to Nick being arrested for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, cops also cited Hogan for use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony, a person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher and having an illegal window tint.
In the police report, Hogan was speeding at 60 mph in a 40 mph zone when he spun out and hit a tree.
Attached is a youtube video I found of Nick Hogan racing his car at the track. It's very obvious that he enjoys speeding and driving out of control. On the track, you can see how Nick's car drifts alot because he is going to fast to make the turns. Maybe this whole situation has opened his eyes to reality.
